Miscellany from Thistle and Thicket Studio

Just popping in to update on things in the Thistle Thicket Studio lately. It's been hard to find the my mojo but I have been working on my Moda Block Heads 3 quilt. I finally finished all of the 56 MBH3 blocks and made an additional 8 blocks from MBH2. All 6". What was I thinking!!! I swore after making the Farmer's Wife quilt that I would never make 6" blocks again. But don't they look so cute all laid out on my 'design floor'?

New Year, New Finish-A-Long Goals from Thistle and Thicket Studio

The holidays flew by and a new year is here, and with it a new year of the Finish-A-Long is beginning. The FAL took a break last year but posted on Instagram that they were ready to start back up again. So here is my very short goals list for the first quarter of 2021.

I decided to just focus on the three sewing challenges that I started in 2020 and hoping this will help me to focus and finish them in a timely manner (ha, ha!).

Moda Block Heads: Blocks 18 - 22 from Thistle and Thicket Studio

I'm all caught up on the Moda Block Heads 3 sew along until Wednesday. Wish I was caught up on my temperature quilt blocks but that's for another day, I guess. Don't these blocks look so cute! I'm loving this color palette!

I haven't sat down at the sewing machine for a couple of weeks. Wow! Where is the time going? I definitely seem to be busy but not much to show for it. Moda Blockheads 3: Blocks 9-12 from Thistle and Thicket Studio

Although I don't have this past week's block finished yet, I have been able to keep up with the Moda Blockheads 3 sew-along so far. But I am definitely slow on sharing my blocks in a timely manner here on the blog.

So here are my latest four blocks. Block #9 is Taos by Vanessa Goertzen. I kind of wished I would have used the light aqua where I used the pink fabric also.

I'm trying to get caught up on my Moda Block Heads blocks today and realized I haven't shown my second month of blocks here yet.

I'm trying to be caught up each month by our quilt guild meeting so I can share them at our show & tell. So far, so good.
